How We Solved the Background Color Problem (So You Don't Have To)

    Benjamin NasslerMarch 24, 2026

Several of our customers ran into the same problem: you set up a studio, generate 40 product shots, and the background colors come out inconsistent. You need a specific grey for your shop, but you get ten different shades across ten generations. That doesn't work when your catalog needs to look cohesive.

The reason is that AI image models are surprisingly bad at interpreting color from text. "Light grey" means something different every single time.

    Showing instead of telling

So instead of describing the color to the AI, we show it. When you set a hex color on your studio perspective, we generate a color swatch and feed it directly into the pipeline as a visual reference. The AI matches what it sees, not what it reads. Set your color once, generate 500 images, the background stays the same. And the results still have the depth and lighting of a real studio, not a flat digital fill.

This is how we think about building Brandmachine. We don't want to hand you a bunch of settings and leave you to figure it out. When something doesn't work well enough, we find a real solution and build it into the product so it just works.

    Try it

The feature is live now as a beta. Try it with your actual brand colors and see where it breaks. Does the color drift on certain products? Certain lighting setups? Your feedback shapes what we ship next.

If you're already a customer, you'll find background color in your studio perspective settings. If you're evaluating Brandmachine, reach out and we'll set it up for you.
